During this three-week class, we will explore the ways that biblical people lamented, or cried out to God in times chaos and pain. In the Bible, lament was used by both individuals and communities as a way to communicate sorrow, pain, and even anger to God. Throughout the class, we will explore places where Jesus himself lamented, as well times when the entire nation of Israel cried out to God with one voice of sorrow and grief. In our context of instability and confusion, God has given us biblical examples of lament that we can use to process our own pain, confusion, and anger. Join us as we use the genre of lament to seek God in our current time and struggle. This will be a class offered live through ZOOM, so in order to participate, please register with a GMAIL email account. These accounts are free, and easy to make.
