  • HAPPY HELPING FARM

Happy Helping Farm is a plot of land in Hopewell, overlooking the beautiful Hopewell Valley. Ted Klett has secured this garden space in an effort to grow local produce and provide it to those in need. This year’s pandemic has made the need for the disbursement of healthy produce more important than ever.

It has been inspiring to see how many church groups and private citizens have come to the need of their neighbors in the midst of this pandemic. We are hoping this urge to help will bring some volunteers to the Happy Helping Farm as well. A handful of us have been working a few days a week in between the raindrops. We have been aiming to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, however the schedule is flexible.  If you are available one day a week for a morning or afternoon and would like to help, we can make it happen. There will be opportunities for harvesting and delivering as well.

The benefits of fresh produce to those in need are enormous. There are benefits to providers and volunteers as well. It is fabulous to be in the great outdoors, get down in the dirt and learn something about farming. It gets you out of the house. You can farm instead of going to the gym and perhaps start on conquering the COVID 15 (weight gain). More importantly, it is a good feeling to actively take part in your community and make a difference.  God’s greatest commandments are to love God and to love others. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to share God’s love with your neighbors in need.
