Our current opportunities are organized as part time positions however, if the opportunity presents itself, we are open to combining ministry roles to create full time and part time positions.

director of children's ministry

The Director of Children’s Ministry is responsible for casting a vision for the children’s ministry that supports the overall vision of the church. The Director of Children’s Ministry is also responsible for all aspects of ensuring the spiritual growth and development of children ages birth through 5th grade. This includes leadership of weekend classes, (programming, curriculum selection, teaching, classroom management, etc.) and periodic special events for children. The position is part time, 10-15 hours per week and reports to the Senior Pastor.


Spiritual Component      

  • Support the official mission of the church, “Help people discover and experience the life-changing love of Christ”
  • Commit and continue to pray for God’s vision for PCC including the congregation and staff
  • Work within the leadership team in conjunction with staff to help implement God’s vision    

Ministerial Component

  • Direct the recruitment, training, development and guidance of volunteers as needed, to staff children’s ministry classrooms and special events
  • Lead a team of volunteers in the creation and operation of a children’s ministry, including weekend services and routine special events
  • Meet regularly (quarterly minimum) with children’s ministry volunteers to address
  • concerns, answer questions and keep them informed of ongoing events/issues affecting their ministry
  • Select and/or develop curriculum for a children’s Christian education program that is part of the church’s weekend service schedule: organize weekly lessons + set up tech resources for weekly classes
  • Cast vision, design, plan and conduct special events and activities for children.  This may include but not be limited to: Summer Kids Camp, Summer activities Family programs, Christmas program, and Easter program. (All events must include a planning document for pre and post event activities, three months prior to the event. All programs and events must be coordinated with the Sr. Pastor to insure proper placement in the church calendar and schedule)
  • Implement children’s registration, classroom management, and security policies/practices in support of weekend services and periodic special events
  • Run background checks using Checkr for workers and leaders before placing them in ministry
  • Design, plan, and conduct bi-annual child dedication services as required meeting the needs of families attending PCC
  • Develop and maintain ongoing communication with families to support and encourage in areas of needs

Administrative Component

  • Responsible for creating safe and appealing classrooms that are age appropriate *   Administrative Component
  • Keep a current list of volunteers with names, addresses, and phone numbers in a secure file at the church
  • Respond to emails, phone calls, texts and other forms of communication in a timely manner (typically within 24 hours)
  • Develop an annual budget for children’s ministries and oversee spending of the budget
  • Keep ongoing records of attendance, both of workers and children, and report that information to the Sr. Pastor
  • Communicate any issues and concerns to the Sr. Pastor as they are known
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of events/activities, keep records and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Attend Monthly Leadership Team meetings (first Tuesday of each month)
  • Attend the Annual Congregation Meeting (last Sunday in January)

Education and Experience


A desirable applicant will have experience in a children’s ministry leadership capacity. Possession of a teaching or related degree is preferred. (Extensive ministry experience, in some cases, can be substituted. These position guidelines can be examined by the Sr. Pastor and the Leadership Team on a case by case basis.) The successful individual will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic, possess a passion for teaching children about God, and have the ability to administrate as a department head. A working knowledge of creative programming related to children’s classes and special events is a plus.

WORSHIP PASTOR

The worship pastor provides vision and leadership to the worship team to help fulfill Princeton Community Church’s mission, goals and objectives.  The position reports to the Senior Pastor.


Spiritual Component

  • Support the official mission of the church, “Help people discover and experience the life-changing love of Christ”
  • Commit and continue to pray for God’s vision for PCC including the congregation and staff
  • Work within the leadership team in conjunction with staff to help implement God’s vision

Ministerial Component


Worship Ministry

  • Explore a variety of worship avenues
  • Work with volunteers to provide training in various worship ministry related areas as needed
  • Administer and train volunteers in video recording and production
  • Provide avenues for spiritual growth among volunteers
  • Determine weekly worship schedule, songs, musicians, support staff and order of service in conjunction with the Sr. Pastor
  • Oversee and nurture interns where applicable

Additional Ministerial Opportunities

  • When requested by the Senior Pastor, prepare and deliver Biblical messages to the congregation (if willing and gifted in this area)
  • Function as a member of PCC’s pastoral staff performing baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc. (as qualified and requested)

Administrative Component

  • Suggest improvements in church procedures/policies as needed
  • Respond to emails, phone calls, texts and other forms of communication in a timely manner (typically within 24 hours)
  • Communicate any issues and/or concerns to the Sr. Pastor as they are known
  • Develop an annual budget for worship ministry and oversee the allocation of the budget
  • Support the activities of PCC ministries which relate to or need assistance from the Worship Ministry (sound, musicians, multi-media, projection, lights, etc.) 

Additional Commitments

  • Weekly staff meetings (Monday’s 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.)
  • Leadership Team meetings (1st Tuesday of each month - 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.)
  • Annual congregation meeting (last Sunday in January)

Optional Opportunities

  • Monthly Ecumenical meeting (2nd Tuesday of each month - 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.)
  • Weekly interaction with interns (Thursday - 10:00 a.m.)
  • Conferences, events, activities

YOUTH PASTOR

The youth pastor provides vision and leadership to the student ministry to help fulfill Princeton Community Church’s mission, goals and objectives.  The position reports to the Senior Pastor.

Ministerial Component


Student Ministry

  • Explore a variety of engagement avenues and opportunities
  • Work closely with volunteer Youth Staff including interns and provide opportunities for involvement and training
  • Communicate with parents and help provide direction for students
  • Provide pastoral care to families and/or students as needed and as equipped
  • Organize and lead weekly large and small group meetings, events, activities, conferences, mission trips and retreats in conjunction with other ministries when appropriate
  • Oversee and nurture interns where applicable
