HEARTS FOR HONDURAS

SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVE

BREAKING BARRIERS, BUILDING FUTURES

OUR GOALS

  • Supporting bright students who dream of serving their communities
  • Creating opportunities for education beyond sixth grade

In El Triunfo, education often ends at sixth grade. Our Scholarship Initiative creates life-changing opportunities for talented students from impoverished backgrounds.

Each scholarship student is carefully selected and nurtured by our partners:

  • Pastor Erasmo, our dedicated local administrator
  • A local school in El Triunfo

Selection Criteria:

  • Financial need
  • Academic excellence
  • A demonstrated desire to learn
  • Parental commitment and support

What the Scholarship Covers:

  • Uniforms
  • School supplies
  • Transportation

Accountability:

  • Quarterly check-ins ensure that each of our young scholars stay on track

OPENING DOORS THROUGH EDUCATION

Every contribution matters. Each scholarship provides young people with the tools to transform their communities:

  • Vital Funding: $350 per student per year
  • Mentorship: Ongoing support that goes beyond the classroom
  • Vision: A commitment to long-term educational development

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." -Proverbs 22:6

LIVES TRANSFORMED THROUGH LEARNING

Our scholarships create a ripple effect with:

  • 33 bright minds currently pursuing education beyond what was once possible
  • Families of scholarship recipients witnessing the transformative power of education in their homes
  • The broader community being uplifted as educated youth become catalysts for change

EXPANDING EDUCATION EMPOWERMENT

THE GOAL

Our current educational goal is to support additional students each year over 5 years.

By investing in education, the story doesn't end at graduation. It's the beginning of community

transformation and national progress. We want to:

  • Increase scholarship reach - Open doors for more deserving students
Aspirational Goals
  • Extend support to higher education - Opening doors to university and beyond
  • Develop robust mentorship programs - Providing guidance beyond the classroom
  • Create local internship opportunities - Bridging education to real-world experience
  • Support vocational training - To diversify available skills and opportunities

Together, we can address the barriers to higher education for children in El Triunfo.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" -Jeremiah 29:11

PRAYER PARTNERSHIP

Prayer is the center of our Hearts for Honduras initiatives because we believe God hears our prayers and there is power in prayer.

One of the things our team discovered on their November trip to Honduras, was how much the scholarship students, their families, and those involved in the agricultural program pray for us. With this in mind, the Outreach Ministry has organized a Prayer Partnership for our PCC Family and the students in our Hearts for Honduras Scholarship Initiative.

We would like to invite you as an individual, couple, family or Small Group to partner with a scholarship student in our Hearts for Honduras Scholarship initiative by praying for them during their school year which runs from February through November.

If you are interested in becoming a prayer partner, please stop by the Outreach Ministry table in PCC's foyer following our worship service on Sunday! An Outreach Team member will be happy to assist you with getting started.
