WHAT WE BELIEVE

GOD

We believe there is one true God, the creator of heaven and earth who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • Matthew 28:19
  • John 1:1
  • John 14:26
  • 1 Peter 1:2

JESUS

We believe that Jesus was God’s one and only Son, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and demonstrated his love for us when he willingly died on the cross for our sins. He was bodily raised from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father. We believe that Jesus will return to earth and initiate the consummation of human history.

  • John 1:1-18
  • Acts 2:22-41
  • Philippians 2:1-11

THE Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit completes the trinity with God the Father and Jesus the Son. The Holy Spirit provides power in the life of a believer to overcome sin, provide insight into Scripture and give direction for life. Through the Holy Spirit, each person is given certain gifts to use in service for the kingdom.

  • Luke 11:13
  • John 16:13
  • Acts 1:8
  • Romans 8:11

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe the scriptures were given to provide instruction for what we are to believe and how we are to live our lives. The teachings of the prophets, apostles and Jesus contained in the scriptures are useful for teaching, preaching and training in faith. We believe it is applicable to our daily lives and shares God’s story of love and redemption for all people through Christ.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16
  • 2 Peter 1:19-21

RELATIONSHIPS

We believe that our purpose is to have a relationship with God and with each other. That through our sin we were separated from God and yet we have been invited back into a relationship with God by placing our faith in Jesus as our Savior and Lord. Those accepting Christ in faith are encouraged to repent of their sins, confess their faith in Him and be baptized by immersion into Christ. Scripture teaches us that all who place their faith in Jesus Christ will receive forgiveness of their sins and the free gift of eternal life.

  • John 3:16
  • Acts 2:38
  • Romans 3:23
  • Romans 10:9
  • 1 John 1:9

SERVING

We believe that all of us have direct access to God. As believers we are part of God’s “royal priesthood” and have been called to serve. We encourage every believer to identify his or her spiritual gifts and passions and find an exciting and fulfilling place to use those gifts in service to the Lord.

JESUS MODELED IT

When we make Jesus the Leader and Forgiver of our life he is our model and example in everything we think and do. Matthew 3:13-17

JESUS COMMANDED IT

After Jesus’ resurrection and before his ascenion into heaven, Jesus left instructions for his followers. Matthew 28:18-20

THE EARLY CHURCH OBEYED JESUS

In the Book of Acts, every single time someone became a Christian they were baptized as a part of the conversion experience. Acts Chapters 2, 8, 10, 16

WHY?

Baptism is a faithful act of personal surrender to Christ that also serves as a demonstration of our faith to others. By being obedient in baptism, you demonstrate your willingness to submit control and authority of your life to Christ. Baptism not only encourages those who have already taken this step, but it also invites those who have not to evaluate their view on baptism. Romans 6:3-11

HOW?

The biblical method of baptism is by immersion. Matthew 3:13-17 & Acts 8:36-38

WHEN?

In the Bible we see baptism as the physical next step after accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. We invite and encourage you to be baptized when you recognize your need for a Savior and have a desire to make Jesus Lord of your life. Acts 19:4-5

M E M B E R S H I P

In the scriptures, the church is recognized as a community.

In fact, it is likened to a body and a body functions through connections.

Being connected gives us the sense of belonging and it has the

potential to strengthen our community.

Membership at PCC is an opportunity to become part of a body,

an opportunity to commit to building community, growing in life and faith

and being an instrument of grace.

We invite you to learn more about becoming a

member of PCC by taking our PCCID class which is generally offered once a year.

If you have questions about Membership, please contact our Pastor, Craig M. Casey.
